Department of State Reviews of Election Administration

Beginning in 2013 in response to a new law passed in 2012 (PA 271), the Michigan Department of State (Bureau of Elections) has conducted reviews of the administration of elections in selected precincts. While not audits of the vote count, these reviews do reveal persistant problems and shortcomings in the administration of elections, some of which can cause an election to be unrecountable.
